James "Jim" William Hamilton, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 30, 2025. Born on June 20, 1944, Jim grew up in Maryland before settling in Moorefield, WV, and spending his final years in Chambersburg, PA.
Jim honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967. He was a man of many talents and passions, especially woodworking, building, tinkering, and inventing. He had a love for art and music. Jim was known for his smart, witty, charismatic personality. He was an adventurous and creative spirit who made friends wherever he went and touched countless lives.
Jim is survived by his children, Meghan Hamilton and spouse Evan Owens, and Erin Hamilton and spouse Elliot Dawson; his grandchildren, Maxwell and Augustus Dawson; his brother, David Hamilton; his sisters, Hope Collins and husband Bill, and Sally Flannery and husband Terry; partner, Laurel "Missy" Pfister; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Murray Hamilton, and his beloved sister, Gayle Annee Hamilton.
Per Jim's wishes, there will be no formal services. His final resting place will be alongside his sister Annee, as his ashes will be scattered in a private gathering.
