Rhoda "Boots" Conover

Rhoda Crouse "Boots" Conover, 96, of Hanover, PA, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Homewood of Plum Creek.

Born September 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Hobson Dewey and Pauline (Worley) Crouse. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Irvin S. Conover; a son, Bobby L. Conover; nine brothers; and three sisters.

Rhoda was a 1946 graduate of Gettysburg High School.

She worked as a Tax Collector for Mount Joy Township for over 20 years and was a homemaker.

Rhoda was a member of the former Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Taverns, where she served as organist, choir director, Sunday school teacher, and was active in the church's Ladies Aid. Rhoda was also a member of the Frogtown Homemakers and the Gettysburg Civic Chorus. She was a 4H leader and an English tutor through the Gettysburg Public Library.

Rhoda is survived by a son, Benjy Conover and wife Jean; two daughters, Carol R. Graf and husband Dale, Janice K. Stoner and husband Rob; a brother, Larry Crouse; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor, 3045 Baltimore Pike, Two Taverns, with the Rev. Joel Hummel officiating.

Family and friends will be received from 9:00 –11:00AM at the funeral home.

Rhoda will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
