Robert Bernard Allen

Robert Bernard Allen, 82, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a lengthy battle with illness.

Born April 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Burton and Francis (Crone) Allen. Robert transitioned from a career working for the State of Maryland as a truck driver to specializing as a mechanic later in life.

His hobbies included a passion for tractor collecting, dedication to his beloved horses, gardening, and classic country music.

Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert J. Allen and Stanley R. Allen; a grandson, Trevor W. Allen; two brothers, Paul and John Allen; a sister, Miriam Heil; and many extended family and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor, 3045 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA. 

Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow at Tom’s Creek Community Cemetery, in Emmitsburg, MD.
