Robert “Bob” Sleeper, 72, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 24, 2024.
Bob graduated from Towson High School in 1970. He joined the Navy in 1971, dedicating five years of serving his country with honor. After the Navy, Bob attended Howard Community College and then began an illustrious career as a New Home Construction Manager in Howard County. The houses he built showed deep commitment to creating welcoming spaces that families could call ‘’home”.
Bob had a fascination with history, particularly the Civil War. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with family and friends, even in the dead of winter. He was also very involved in both his children’s and then his grandchildren’s sports, being a great coach and side-line cheerleader.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marian Duncan Sleeper; their daughters, Amanda Fiorito, Teresa Sleeper and Sharon Ely; sons-in-law, Jason Fiorito, Joshua Ely and Jesse Gentry; and four grandchildren, Lennox and Honor Ely, and Tyler and Jake Fiorito. He is also survived by his brother, Paul Sleeper and sisters, Judy Blackburn, Marti Woods and Kay Washburn.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, cherished father and proud grandfather. His memory will be kept alive through stories and experiences shared by his family and friends.
