Simon

Simon—better known as Sam, Sammy, or “Baby Sam”—had a pretty unique start to life. His story began when a pregnant stray was rescued from a Waffle House, and Simon ended up being one of her kittens. From the beginning, he had personality.

He was a funny, easygoing cat who loved to play, stretch out in the sunshine, and curl up in anyone’s lap. He had a way of making himself right at home wherever he was and keeping things interesting while he did it.

Simon spent two years bravely battling lymphoma before his body finally gave out. Even through that, he stayed the same sweet, familiar cat we all loved.

He’s now buried in the Brandenburg Family Pet Cemetery in Foxville, Maryland, alongside some of his animal family. We still talk about him all the time, and he’ll always be remembered as one of the best.
