Two Taverns Cemetery Garden Club

A sign in a cemetery that says lots available

The Two Taverns Cemetery Garden Club was formed by a small group of friends who share a love for the cemetery and a desire to care for it together. What began as a simple idea to gather a few times a year to plant flowers and tidy the grounds has grown into a meaningful way to honor those at rest while building community among the living.

The Garden Club meets quarterly during the warmer months to plant, clean, and beautify the cemetery. In the off-season, members focus on community-centered projects, finding ways to give back and spread kindness beyond the cemetery grounds.

Although the Garden Club is a new organization, its purpose is rooted in long-standing traditions of stewardship, remembrance, and neighborly care. Through shared work and fellowship, members help preserve the beauty of Two Taverns Cemetery while ensuring it remains a peaceful and welcoming place for families, visitors, and future generations.

Community Care in Action

On February 1st, the Two Taverns Cemetery Garden Club gathered at the funeral home to participate in the Cupid Project, a community initiative dedicated to creating handmade Valentine’s Day cards for nursing home residents.

The afternoon was filled with good conversation, light refreshments, and plenty of creativity as members crafted 96 heartfelt Valentine cards. We began delivering the cards this week to nursing homes in Littlestown and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, sharing a little extra kindness and cheer with residents in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Garden Club is grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in such a meaningful way and looks forward to participating in future outreach projects.
